Fit matters more for tennis bracelets than most jewelry. Too tight and it will not drape properly; too loose and it risks slipping off or catching on things. Here is how to get the perfect fit.
Standard Tennis Bracelet Sizes
| Length |
Fits Wrist Size |
Who It Fits |
| 6.5 inches | 5.5–6" wrist | Petite women, small-boned wrists |
| 7.0 inches | 6–6.5" wrist | Average women's size — most common |
| 7.5 inches | 6.5–7" wrist | Larger women's wrists or those preferring a looser fit |
| 8.0 inches | 7–7.5" wrist | Men's small or unisex sizing |
| 8.5 inches | 7.5–8" wrist | Men's standard |
How to Measure Your Wrist
- Wrap a flexible measuring tape (or a strip of paper) around your wrist just above the wrist bone — where you would normally wear a bracelet.
- Pull snug but not tight. Mark where the tape meets.
- Measure the length in inches. This is your wrist circumference.
- Add 0.5 to 1 inch to your wrist measurement for the ideal bracelet length.
The right fit: A properly sized tennis bracelet should move freely on your wrist with about one finger's width of space between the bracelet and your skin. It should drape and move but not slide up over your hand.

Look & Feel |
| Snug | +0.5 inch | Stays in place, minimal movement. Best for active wearers. |
| Comfort (recommended) | +0.75 inch | Drapes nicely with some movement. The classic tennis bracelet look. |
| Loose | +1.0 inch | Moves freely, slides around wrist. More casual, relaxed feel. |
Gifting Without Knowing the Size
If you are buying a tennis bracelet as a surprise gift and cannot measure the recipient's wrist:
- 7 inches fits most women. When in doubt, choose 7".
- Measure an existing bracelet they own (lay it flat and measure end to end).
- Measure their watch band if they wear a watch — this gives you their wrist circumference.
- If you must guess between two sizes, go longer — a slightly loose tennis bracelet looks better than a tight one.
