How to Buy Certified Loose Gemstones
Choosing a loose gemstone is the most personal step in creating a one-of-a-kind piece of jewelry. Whether you are designing a sapphire engagement ring, a pendant with an emerald, or a pair of ruby earrings, starting with the right stone ensures the finished piece reflects exactly what you envision. We carry over 16 gemstone varieties — from the classic big three to rare collector's stones like alexandrite and spinel.
Understanding Gemstone Certification
Every stone in our collection is independently certified by a leading gemological laboratory — GIA, GRS, or Gübelin. A certificate documents color, clarity, carat weight, origin, and any treatments, giving you confidence in your purchase. Learn more in our gemstone grading guide.
The Big Three: Sapphire, Ruby & Emerald
Sapphires, rubies, and emeralds are the most sought-after colored gemstones worldwide. Sapphires rate 9 on the Mohs scale, making them ideal for engagement rings and everyday jewelry. Rubies are the rarest of the three, especially coveted in "pigeon blood" reds from Burma. Emeralds, prized for their rich green, are traditionally set in platinum or gold to complement their warm tone. Our gemstone buying guide covers each in detail.
Collector's & Rare Gemstones
Beyond the big three, our collection includes alexandrite — prized for its dramatic color change from green to red — along with vivid spinel, electric Paraíba tourmaline, and warm morganite. For birthstone gifts, explore our garnet, amethyst, aquamarine, peridot, topaz, citrine, and opal selections. Each stone is certified, ethically sourced, and available to set in rings, pendants, earrings, and bracelets.
